Channel p10 weight 1 m
All about construction and renovation
Absolutely all enterprises that manufacture construction parts must adhere to generally accepted standards. The production of channels is no exception. Its range is very wide and each profile is intended for a specific use.
Before talking about a specific channel, it is necessary to understand what a channel is. A channel is a special metal product, which is used in large quantities in construction to give greater strength to frames and structures. In the next photo you can see the channel in more detail.
Channel 10 is popular among many areas of production:
- In construction, such as strengthening and erecting concrete structures. Also, a 10 mm channel increases the rigidity of structures and makes them more stable.
- Mechanical engineering.
- Machine tool industry.
- Heavy industry.
A 10 mm channel allows you to strengthen metal structures, making them safe. It can also be used as the main type of supporting frame to create supports. The product can be used as a separate part or assembled into one structure by welding.
Channel dimensions 10
Product number 10 is often designated as channel size 100; size 100 characterizes the marking according to the width of the shelf in (mm).
Common parameters:
Channels 10 and 10P have identical parameters with the exception of the flange radius r.
- shelf base height (h): 100 (mm);
- shelf width (b): 46 (mm);
- wall thickness (s): 4.5 (mm);
- shelf thickness (t): 7.6 (mm);
- radius of internal curvature (R): 7 (mm);
- radius of curvature of the shelf with the slope of the internal edges of the shelves (r): 3 (mm);
- radius of curvature of the shelf with parallel edges of the shelves (r): 4 (mm).
Important: the data is valid for hot-rolled steel channels in accordance with GOST 8240-89.
Features and types of hot-rolled products with profile No. 10
As stated above, channel 10 is produced in accordance with GOST 8240. All rolled products of this standard (that is, all standard sizes) differ from any other channel section products. All differences, including the manufacturing method, are described in relative detail in the first chapter of the article on channel No. 16. The same material also provides a description of the external and other features of the rolled channel No. 10 under consideration.
Standard 8240, being a GOST assortment, regulates the types and list of standard sizes of products produced according to it with the corresponding dimensions and cross-sectional area (in diameter), weight of 1 meter, length, permissible maximum deviations from these values and other characteristics depending on these parameters.
And according to GOST 8240, the channel 10 in question is all products of this standard, manufactured with a profile (wall) height of 100 mm. In total, 3 types (series) of rolled channel No. 10 are produced, the division into which is made according to the geometric dimensions and cross-sectional shape of the profile:
- U – products, the internal edges of the shelves of which have a slope;
- P – products whose shelf edges are parallel;
- E - so-called economical channels, the edges of the flanges of which are parallel.
Accordingly, these series of products are designated: channel 10U, 10P and 10E.
Explanation of designation 10 – height (in dm). P is a type of profile that resembles the corresponding letter of the Russian alphabet (its shelves are strictly parallel and located at right angles to the wall). Section parameters All linear dimensions are in “mm”. Height (h) – 100. Width (b) – 46. Thickness: walls (s) – 4.5; shelves (t) – 7.6. Radii: curvature ® – 7; rounding ® – 3.0.
Sometimes you need to know the cross-sectional area. For a 10P channel it is 10.9 cm². The channel length ranges from 4 to 12 m. It can be longer if the production of such a blank is agreed upon with the customer. The profile parameters are controlled at any section of the channel, but not closer than 0.5 m from its ends.
All other data, for example, errors depending on the accuracy of the rental, are understandable only to specialists, so it makes no sense to present them.

Channel 20 - characteristics according to GOST and assortment
Steel channel 20 is a type of rolled metal with a U-shaped cross section with equal or unequal flanges. Wall height - 20 cm. Equal-flange channel 20 is manufactured by hot rolling in accordance with GOST 8240-97 or bending on profile bending lines in accordance with GOST 8278-83.
Uneven-flanged products are produced by bending strip or sheet blanks. Their range complies with GOST 8281-80. For the manufacture of products for ordinary use, carbon steel of ordinary quality of various degrees of deoxidation and high-quality structural steel are used.
For channel 20, designed for operation under high loads and/or at low temperatures, low-alloy steels of type 09G2S are in demand.
Types of channel 20, main characteristics
GOST 8240-97 regulates the production of several types of hot-rolled products with a U-shaped cross section. Hot-rolled channel 20 is sold in lengths of 2-12 m. On request, the length can be longer.
- With a slope of the inner edges of the shelves . The markings indicate the height of the shelf in centimeters and the letter “U”. The products are used in frame construction, to strengthen the foundation, construct trusses, arched ceilings, construct small architectural forms, and create load-bearing metal structures for various purposes.
- With parallel edges of shelves . The designation contains the letter “P”. Like the U series products, it is used in construction. Products with parallel inner edges of the shelves are convenient in cases where a tight fit along the inner part of the section is necessary.
- Economical series (E) with parallel shelf edges . The wall thickness is less than the wall thickness of P series metal products.
- With parallel edges of light series shelves (L) . The 20 L channel is characterized by a reduced shelf length, shelf and wall thickness, and therefore a smaller cross-sectional area, weight of 1 m, and load-bearing capacity, compared to the P series. The product is in demand in structures not intended to withstand significant forces.
- With a slope of the internal edges of the special series shelves (C) - 20C, 20Ca, 20Sb. Metal products with indices “a” and “b” have a more powerful cross-section compared to rolled products 20C.
Equal-flange bent channel 20, produced in accordance with GOST 8278-83, can have flanges with a width of 50, 80, 100, 180 mm, and a wall thickness of 3, 4, 5, 6 mm. It is made from hot-rolled roll blanks. Unequal bent products are produced in accordance with GOST 8281-80. The standard provides for shelves with a width of 50 and 30 mm, wall thickness - 4 mm.
To increase corrosion resistance, metal products made from “black” carbon steels are coated with a protective zinc layer.

Weight of 1 m2 of tiles, stones, mosaics
Such an indicator as the weight of the facing material is a very important parameter that determines the scope of application of the facing material. Next, let's take a closer look at what you should pay attention to.
Weight of facing materials
The weight of the facing material determines the requirements for the surface to be covered and for the adhesives used!
You can formulate a gradation of application as follows:
- For finishing the interior walls, the lightest and thinnest tiles will be used, the weight of which will not exceed 16 kg per 1 m2.
- More durable and thick tiles will be used as flooring; in this case, the weight can reach 25 kg per 1 m2.
- They try to select the facing material for facades in the range of 15-20 kg per 1 m2.
- Since the materials used to cover sidewalks must have sufficient strength, the weight of paving products can be about 100 kg per 1 m2.
The weight of facing materials can be influenced by various factors, such as: material density, dimensions, water absorption coefficient, porosity, etc.
Most often, the criterion of the weight of the facing material is taken into account to determine the required quantity and properties of the adhesive composition, as well as when planning transportation. For calculation, different weight criteria are used, such as: specific gravity, volumetric weight and weight of one unit.
At the moment, the following types of facing materials are most often used in construction and renovation:
- Ceramic tiles or tiles
- Clinker
- Porcelain tiles
- Mosaic
- Paving slabs
- Stone
- Fake diamond
