Basic parameters of steel sheet
Currently, enterprises in Russia and neighboring countries produce hot-rolled (hereinafter hot-rolled) and cold-rolled (hereinafter cold-rolled) sheets according to various specifications and GOSTs. We will not list them in this article. Let us dwell only on the basic parameters that are common for all types of sheet metal.
Hot-rolled and cold-rolled sheets, depending on the thickness, are produced in the following cuts:
- from 0.3 to 3.0 mm - 1000*2000 mm, 1250*2500 mm or rolls 1000 mm or 1250 mm wide
- from 3.0 to 40 mm - 1500*6000 mm, 2000*6000 mm
- from 40 to 100 mm - various standard sizes.
Other cuts are considered non-standard and are supplied to metal depots in small quantities. It is possible to order sheets of arbitrary sizes at the request of the customer. Check the conditions with our managers.
Calculation of the weight of hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized sheets
The weight of a steel sheet can be calculated using the following formula:
a * b * l * 7.85 = m (kg)
where:a - thickness in millimetersb - width in meters
l – length in meters
For galvanized sheets, the obtained result must be increased by 3% (zinc layer).
Main parameters of steel sheets with rhombic and lenticular corrugation GOST 8568-77
According to GOST 8568-77, two types of steel sheets are produced: with rhombic (Fig. 1) and lenticular (Fig. 2) corrugation. Depending on the thickness, corrugated sheets are produced in the following cuts:
3.0 mm 1250*2500 mm, 1500*6000 mm
4.0-12 mm 1500*6000 mm

Main parameters of expanded metal sheet (PVL sheet)
Expanded metal sheet (hereinafter referred to as PVL sheet) is produced according to TU 36.26.11-5-89 or TU 27.1-25484714-001 from low-carbon rolled steel by the method of perforation followed by drawing. This method allows you to reduce the weight of the PVL sheet while maintaining the load-bearing capacity.
The above technical conditions provide for the production of PVL sheets of the following grades 406, 408, 410, 506, 508, 510, 606, 608, 610, but in fact, in the warehouses of the central region you can purchase PVL sheets from 406 to 510, the rest of the range is produced to order.
PVL sheets are produced in the following cuts:
- width - 500; 600; 700; 800; 900; 1000; 1250mm;
- length - not measured length within 2-3.5 m.
