Gold samples
To make gold jewelry more hard and wear-resistant, alloys of gold with other metals are used to make them. The fineness of gold reflects the content of precious metal in this alloy.
Metals added to gold are called alloys. Silver and copper are considered the best alloys, since these metals help improve all the physical characteristics of the alloy. Pure gold is practically not used, as it is distinguished by its high softness and tendency to deform and scratch.
Gold assay systems
There are four systems of samples of precious metals. The most widely used are the metric and carat systems.
In Russia, the metric system has been in effect since 1927. The sample in this case is indicated by a three-digit number, which reflects the gold content in the alloy (grams/kg). Thus, in 1 kg of 585-carat jewelry alloy, pure gold accounts for 585 g, and ligature – 415 g. The metric system provides for 375, 500, 585, 750, 950 and 999 samples. The highest standard of gold, 999, is not used for making jewelry, but gold bars often have it.
In Europe and the USA, the karate system is used. It is intended exclusively for gold alloys. This sample indicates the number of parts of gold from 24 parts of the alloy. So, 18K standard means that 18 parts out of 24 are gold, 6 are alloy. When dividing 18 by 24, we get 0.75, which is equivalent to the 750th sample from the metric system. Carat system for gold alloys: 9, 10, 14, 18, 24 carats.
The hallmarks are related as follows: 375 hallmark = 9 carat: 37.5 percent pure gold. 500 hallmark = 12 carat: 50 percent pure gold. 585/583 hallmark = 14 carat: 58.5/3 percent pure gold. 750 hallmark = 18 carat: 75 percent pure gold. 958 fine = 23 carats: 95.8 percent pure gold.
999 fine = 24 carats: 99.9 percent pure gold.
Testing
Jewelry made in the Russian Federation must have two hallmarks.
The first mark, the name mark, is an imprint of the manufacturer’s mark; it is placed on all products made of precious metals. It contains the manufacturer's individual marks and marks that indicate the year of branding.
The second hallmark, hallmark, is a state hallmark (assay), which is a special mark minted on jewelry (can also be applied using a laser or electric spark method) by state inspectorates of assay supervision. The presence of this stamp indicates that the product has been checked by a state inspection and has a sample that is not lower than that indicated in the stamp.
The last mark includes an identification mark and a hallmark. They can be placed either in one image or in separate ones.
To this day, the image of the hammer and sickle, approved in 1958, is used as the identity sign, with a 5-pointed star serving as the background. The identification sign, installed in 1994, is an image of the profile of a female head in a kokoshnik turned to the right.
The hallmark looks like a three-digit number, which indicates the number of weight units of the precious metal in 1000 weight units of the alloy.

The whole truth about rose gold
How often do you see “metal: rose gold” in the description of jewelry? Is there 585 rose gold? How is this amazingly beautiful alloy obtained and how to distinguish true rose gold?
We will tell you and show you in our article from the “Jewelry Notes” section.
So, rose gold.
Myth 1. Rose gold, 585
Real rose gold has a special shimmer and delicate hue; Indeed, rose gold is cast only in 750 carat.
Gold of any color and standard is created using a ligature in which 75% or 58.5% is pure 999 gold, and the rest is impurities, for example, copper, silver, palladium, zinc. Rose gold is created by adding copper and silver in certain proportions to pure metal.
The shade is created by changing the ligature, that is, the composition and percentage of impurities. Experienced jewelers and professional foundries know how to do this.
What is “585 rose gold”? This is how sellers (or manufacturers) most often call the classic “585 red gold”, in which 95% of all jewelry was created in Soviet times. It is difficult to say for what purpose the color of the metal is changed. Perhaps because it sounds nobler?
Advice: if you are specifically looking for jewelry made of 18-karat pink gold, read the price tags and information about the product in the jewelry store very carefully. If you see the inscription “14k rose gold”, simply compare the color of the jewelry with other jewelry in the showroom, and you will immediately draw clear conclusions.
In our jewelry studio, rose gold jewelry meets the highest jewelry standards, so you can order any product made from gold of this color.
Myth 2. 18k rose gold is very expensive
How much does one gram of 750 gold cost? In our jewelry studio, gold is purchased in bank bars, and then, using a ligature, gold of the required purity and color is created.
750 gold is slightly more expensive than 585 gold. Why? It’s very simple: the specific gravity of gold is greater, which explains the difference in price between one gram of gold weight in 585 and 750 samples.
At the time of writing this article (winter 2017), in the jewelry studio of Grigory Melikov, one gram of 585 gold costs 1,850 rubles, and one gram of 750 gold costs 2,350 rubles, that is, the difference in price is 500 rubles per gram.
And, if you ask whether we have a markup on the cost of rose gold, we will confidently answer: no! 18k rose gold costs the same as any other color of gold.
There are some technological features of casting that increase the cost of one of the manufacturing stages by two to three thousand rubles, but this does not significantly affect the cost of making custom jewelry and is almost invisible to the buyer.
Myth 3. 585 rose gold has the same shade as 750 rose gold
Let's take a look at the products made in 18-carat rose gold in our jewelry studio.
For clarity, let’s add below several items made of 585 yellow and red gold. Feel the difference. Unfortunately, even photographs do not convey the difference in shades of gold so clearly and clearly. However, even in photographs, the difference between the color and shade of the alloys of 18k yellow and red gold and 18k rose gold is obvious.
Advice: if you choose a product by color, look at the decoration in person, pay attention to what you see: a photograph or a 3D model. In the photograph, the color, of course, may be partially distorted by color rendering, but the 3D model of the jewelry (and this is the case with most jewelry online stores) allows you to give the jewelry any color, and you may be surprised when you see the jewelry that the courier brings to you.
Myth 4. Rose gold does not go well with other gold colors.
Rose gold is amazingly delicate and beautiful. One piece of jewelry will highlight your style and taste, but the question is: will a combination of rose gold jewelry with gold jewelry of other colors look good? Our opinion: yes. With careful and careful selection of jewelry, items of different colors and shades of gold can be combined.
It's all about accents and little things, details and accessories. A harmonious combination is possible! And - important, always know: jewelry can be created in combined gold, for example, pink and white.
Jewelry made from a combination of gold (for example, pink and white) will perfectly complement the jewelry you wear without taking it off.
Enjoy the decorations! Create designer jewelry from 18-karat rose gold.
Write to us if you want to create your own decoration. Even if you don’t know which one yet.

(21.01.20) price in rubles per 1 gram
In the same way, multiply the numbers by 0.585 .
Metric system
Our country uses the metric system. This means that the digital value is the amount of precious metal per 1000 units. For example, 1000 g of 585-grade alloy contains 999.9 - 585 grams. The State Assay Chamber of the Russian Federation has adopted these standard values.
To determine the value of any of these alloys, you need to know the price of gold 999.9. For example, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation shows the exchange rate of 2500 rubles/gram for today. This figure must be multiplied by the percentages from the table:
2500 x 37.5% = 937 rubles – price 3752500 x 50% = 1250 rubles – cost 5002500 x 58.5% = 1462 rubles – price per gram 585
2500 x 75% = 1875 rubles – cost per gram is 750
Using this simple formula, you can calculate the real cost of a gram of gold of any standard today. You can calculate the price in any other country in the same way.
The modern jewelry industry produces jewelry of different types, which are visually difficult to distinguish from each other. But, as can be seen from the calculation example, gold 375 is significantly cheaper than 585 or 750. When purchasing products made from low-quality metal, you must understand that if there is a need to exchange or scrap such jewelry, the monetary losses will be quite high.
- : Gold or platinum - which is more expensive?
Carat system
In addition to metric, there is also carat, which is used in Europe and North America. Clarity in this standard corresponds to 24 carats. The relationship between the metric and carat systems.
As can be seen from the table, a product with a 14 K stamp should cost 585 samples.
In practice, such a stamp on jewelry is not a reliable confirmation of the quality of the alloy; it is very easy to fake, unlike the stamp of the State Chamber. Therefore, when accepting scrap without an official stamp, the price is significantly reduced, for example, to a cost of 500.
Spool system
This standard was used in Russia until 1927. In this case, 999.9 standard means 96 spools.
The most common jewelry is with stamp 56, which is similar to 585. The cost of such products, when delivered to a pawnshop, may be higher if they have antique value.
Is it worth investing in gold?
The price of precious metals depends on many factors. The political situation in the world and economic indicators greatly influence price fluctuations.
In the context of the financial crisis, the demand for bullion, as a reliable instrument for savings, is growing in all countries. However, Russia has its own specifics. The fact is that the buyer is required to pay VAT 18%. However, upon sale the tax is not refunded.
A guaranteed loss of 18% of the money invested makes such a tool for preserving and increasing your funds ineffective and quite expensive. Earning money is only possible in the long term.
- This is useful to know: Palladium is a promising investment instrument
Jewelry cannot be used as an investment because it involves labor and trade markup, which is sometimes half the cost of the jewelry.

Sell 585 gold to a pawnshop, what is the difference between prices
Gold is always accepted at the 585 pawnshop, since this brand of precious metal is very common. Therefore, if your gold jewelry has the mark “585”, be it a chain, earrings, bracelet, ring or other piece of jewelry, you can safely contact a pawnshop for financial assistance.
Hallmark “585” means that the product contains about 58.5% pure gold, and the remaining 41.5% contains alloy or impurities. To determine the type of impurities, experts pay attention to the color and shade of the product. For example, pink indicates that the composition contains 32.5% copper, as well as 9% silver.
The yellow tint, in turn, indicates that the alloy contains 18.7% silver and 22.7% copper.
According to the karat system, such gold corresponds to a value of 14 carats.
How much does 585 gold cost in a pawnshop?
When pledging 585 gold, the cost per gram of the precious metal is of great importance. Also, the final price may be affected by the condition of the product (for example, if there is mechanical damage, the price will be reduced), the content of impurities in the alloy, the type of product and the availability of documents confirming the purchase of the gold product.
It is worth considering that the gold exchange rate on the international market is extremely unstable - therefore, in order to find out the current price at which 585 gold is pledged in a pawnshop on Sennaya, just call the numbers listed on our website or look into any branch of our pawnshop.
When going to a pawnshop, do not forget to take your passport. We work only with adult clients!
How is the procedure for lending secured by gold 585?
When pledging a product of 585 standard, qualified specialists perform an assessment of the collateral property. A professional commodity expert is required to:
- check the condition and sample of the product;
- weigh the product;
- will give an accurate and honest assessment of the condition of the metal.
To determine the purity, our pawnshop on Sennaya uses only high-quality, gentle reagents that will not damage the gold.
If the client is completely satisfied with the loan amount, an agreement is signed. Usually the document is drawn up in two copies. After signing the contract, the client receives the agreed amount in cash. Thus, you can quickly and efficiently solve a financial problem without contacting a bank or friends.

Gold 585 or 375: what to choose?
The most popular among buyers are jewelry made of 375 and 585 gold. What is their difference? Let's try to compare these types of gold alloys.
Korloff ring
Many may immediately wonder why gold alloys are needed in general. The need for them is explained by the fact that pure gold is not used in jewelry production due to its softness. To solve this problem, other metals are added to gold to make the alloy hard and durable.
In color, 585 gold alloy is closest to pure gold.
The fineness indicated on a gold product means the proportion of pure gold in the alloy.
375 gold
It is an alloy containing 10 parts pure gold and 14 parts other metals - for example, silver, copper, zinc or nickel. As a percentage, 375 gold contains 41.7% pure gold.
Products made from this gold are usually marked with the marks 10KT, 10K, 10Kt, 375. If you see the number 417 on the sample, it will also mean that the jewelry is made of 375 gold.
585 gold
An alloy of 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts metals such as silver, copper, zinc or nickel.
In percentage terms, the alloy contains 58.3% pure gold, so you can often see the numbers 583 or 585 on products. But most often, products made from this gold alloy are marked with 14K, 14KT, 14k or similar designations.
375 gold is cheaper than 585
The difference in price is one of the obvious differences that can be noticed when purchasing gold products. 375 gold jewelry contains less pure gold than 584 gold jewelry, so it costs less.
But don't think that a lower price means poor quality. Expensive, higher-grade gold items contain more pure gold, so they are softer and therefore less durable than lower-grade gold items.
585 gold has a more beautiful shade
In terms of appearance, the 585 alloy is more reminiscent of pure gold in color.
Hot Diamonds gold pendants
375 alloy appears less yellow as it contains less pure gold
However, this difference is not very noticeable, and most people will not be able to distinguish between 375 and 585 gold by the color of the product. Due to the lower gold content of the 375 alloy, jewelry made from it darkens faster. As you shop around jewelry stores, you will notice that most gold diamond jewelry is made from gold of at least 585 purity.
375 gold has greater hardness
Although many people associate lower pure gold content with lower quality products, in reality 375 gold is a harder and therefore more durable alloy than 585 gold.
Gold is a fairly soft metal, and its lower content in the alloy leads to increased hardness, and therefore wear resistance. For example, a 375 gold ring wears out more slowly than a 585 gold ring.
However, the wear resistance of the alloy depends not only on the content of pure gold in it, but also on the type and amount of other metals included in its composition. In addition, there are other factors that affect the strength of the alloy. Therefore, it is likely that a product made of 585 gold with high quality workmanship can be more durable.
375 gold is contraindicated for those who are allergic to nickel
This is the biggest drawback of 375 gold alloy - the nickel in its composition can cause an allergic reaction.
Because the percentage of nickel in this gold alloy is higher (compared to 585 and higher alloys), products made from it are more likely to cause skin irritation and other allergy symptoms.
Jewelry made of 585 gold practically does not cause allergic reactions, and yet people prone to allergies are recommended to test the product first.
What to choose: 375 or 585 gold
- It is impossible to say for sure which type of gold alloy is better. When choosing, there are many factors to consider, as well as individual preferences. If you want everyday jewelry that you will wear all the time, then it is better to opt for a product made from 375 gold - it is harder and more scratch-resistant. A ring made of 585 gold will wear out faster and become scratched if worn constantly. An additional advantage is the lower price of products made from 375 gold alloy.
- As noted above, diamond jewelry is typically made from at least 585 gold alloy.
- If you are allergic to nickel, it is best to avoid jewelry made from 375 gold and opt for jewelry made from 585 gold or a higher purity alloy.
- As for appearance, it’s up to you to decide which of these types of gold looks more attractive, and whether it’s worth paying extra for a higher standard.

585 gold standard: features, scope of application, physical properties
The year 1994 was marked by the official appearance of 585 gold in Russia.
In the first years after the introduction of this innovation, the so-called assay mark, which was an image of a five-pointed star with a hammer and sickle inside, was still affixed to gold jewelry next to the numerical expression of the gold standard. And only since 2000, the gold standard began to be designated by a combination of the digital value “585” and the profile image of a female figure in a kokoshnik.
Composition and properties of 585 gold
585 gold is an alloy that contains:
- 58.5% pure gold;
- 33.5% copper;
- 8% silver.
The so-called additional metals in this alloy (copper and silver) are called alloys.
Did you know that 585 gold is a popular metal used in jewelry production. Its excellent characteristic is that due to the predominance of pure gold in the alloy, such products do not fade over time. Copper, in turn, makes such products more durable.
Instead of silver, various metals are added to the alloys, resulting in various shades of gold.
So, for example, the so-called “white gold” appeared. This metal is obtained by combining the following components in the following percentage ratio:
- gold - 58.5%;
- nickel – 33.5%;
- palladium – 8%.

Cost of 585 gold
Surprisingly, 585 gold also has its own price dynamics. So, over the last month the cost of 585 samples of gold has changed as follows:
- At the beginning of October, one gram of 585 gold cost about 900 Russian rubles.
- In the period from October 7 to October 22, there was a relatively constant positive dynamics in the price of 585 gold.
- On October 22, the peak price was recorded: the price of one gram of 585 gold was almost 970 rubles.
- The rise in prices for 585 gold did not end there, and already on the last day of October the price of one gram was just over 980 rubles.
- By the beginning of November, there was a noticeable decrease in the price of 585 gold.
- As of November 3, 2014, the cost of one gram of 585 gold is 925 Russian rubles.
We recommend reading: Features of investing in gold and silver 2015
Thus, we see that 585-carat gold is just as dynamic as 999-carat gold. At the same time, prices for 585 samples are, of course, much lower.
However, as our investors already know, bars and precious coins are made exclusively from 999-carat gold.
585 gold standard is only suitable for making various jewelry in combination with other metals.
conclusions
- The price of one gram of 585 gold never reflects the cost of a particular piece of jewelry, based solely on its weight.
- The cost of 585 gold products includes the following indicators:
- The price of gold.
- The price of other precious metals included in the alloys.
- Historical value of the product.

385 gold, distinctive features - Natural Treasures
“Win not with strength, but with weakness!” – these words, I believe, can best describe 385 gold. Low cost, high reliability and quality have led to the fact that this marking has become very common these days.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKAS5cAqZsE
The cost of products made from this precious alloy does not burden the pocket, remaining affordable in all social spheres. In the western part of the world, precious metals of low grade are even more popular, and the explanation for such a high demand is that, in addition to the excellent strength of the metal and wear resistance, jewelry can be tinted, making it white, red or yellow.
sample 385 what is it
Gold is the number one product in the luxury and jewelry market, and its value is determined by the amount of pure yellow gold or other precious metals in the alloy.
The 385th sample has exactly 385 grams of gold in 1000 grams of alloy, and the remaining 615 grams are alloy – a mixture of ordinary metals, usually copper, silver, nickel, palladium and zinc.
Finished jewelry made from this alloy can have a slightly yellow tint or bright red. The color range is quite wide.
Alloy features
This alloy is weakly resistant to corrosion; ingress of water or moisture will cause the product to darken and lose color over time. The hardness of the metal allows it to hold polish well, but it is extremely difficult to reshape for other work.
In most cases, this gold sample is not used in its pure form, but mixed with silver to make more complex jewelry.
Color saturation plays a dominant role, as it makes such luxury items look very impressive, solid and expensive.
It is not difficult to guess that almost all souvenirs and large decorations are made on the basis of this particular alloy.
A large percentage of copper in the alloy results in the fact that the 385th sample does not belong to the category of durable metals, and its lifespan is not as long as we would like.
After a certain number of years, copper begins to tarnish, darken, lose its original color and, ultimately, lose its unique shine.
This is a very common belief and it is simply necessary to know whether it is true or a popular myth!
-As practice shows, jewelry made from this alloy does not oxidize at all, and they should not oxidize! Open space or closed room - there is no difference. As convincing proof, it is worth citing the example of the 333rd sample, which is significantly lower than ours and even it does not fade or lose its color!
If you get your hands on a fake, with a much lower gold content than it should be, referring to the established state standards, then a loss of color is possible.
An undeniable advantage is the huge density of the alloy, which affects the strength of the work. The reason that most people are in no hurry to pay attention to this alloy is that nowadays buyers prefer to buy expensive jewelry for the purpose of storing money in it, and not as an element of beauty.
385 sample - where to use it
As already mentioned, strength is the main advantage of this sample; it is significantly higher than that of any other alloy. This alloy can be used to produce massive gold items or more modest and cheap jewelry.
During the Soviet era, it was popular to make wedding rings from such gold; they lasted quite a long time and had an affordable price for newlyweds. In addition, various gold souvenirs are made from it as a keepsake of the city being visited.
385th and 585th samples and their differences
The very first thing that catches your eye is, of course, the gold content. In addition, each alloy has its own unique and characteristic features. It is necessary to clearly distinguish and understand these differences between two, although similar in composition, but still very different alloys.
- The strength of 585 gold is significantly inferior to 385. The first sample is more fragile and delicate in comparison with the second, since it is stupid to demand high strength and reliability from pure gold. The purer and more expensive the alloy, the more elastic and softer it is;
- The price of an alloy always depends on the content of noble metal in it, and the 385th in this case is several times cheaper;
- The appearance of the products of both samples is equally good and attractive. Great strength and low weight make work easy and comfortable, which cannot but please the jeweler.
Composition of 385 gold
There are several main alloys that differ in the ratio and composition of base metals - alloys:
- bright red alloy, in which: 38.5% pure gold, 2% silver and 59.5% copper;
- red alloy, in which: 38.5% pure gold, 10% silver and 51.5% copper;
- another red alloy, in which: 38.5% pure gold, 16% silver and 61.5% copper.
It is worth recalling that all these alloys are of low quality, which is why they are not in great demand in the precious market of Russia, however, not surprisingly, in the USA the situation is quite the opposite.
Cost of a gram of 385 gold
Today, the price per gram of such gold will be approximately equal to the amount of 15 - 18 dollars, which is one and a half times less than for the 575th sample. Of course, there will always be a significant difference when buying such gold and when handing it over to a pawnshop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8ppCrJY2tc
If you still want to take your gold to a pawnshop, don’t be lazy and spend a little time putting the appearance of your jewelry in order. Although not much, the estimated cost of the jewelry will increase, and this is good news.
The low price allows you to use this gold as an excellent and affordable gift for a loved one, or as an alternative - for those who have not yet learned to care for and appreciate gold, but really want to wear some trinkets.
Customer Reviews
The opinions of people dealing with this sample differ greatly from each other. Some were satisfied, citing the eternal rule - the price must correspond to the quality, while others, on the contrary, wanted to get more by paying as little as possible. Everyone has to draw their own conclusions. But, nevertheless, by grouping everything that is common positive and negative, we can come to objective conclusions:
- It is highly not recommended to invest your finances in this alloy, since its quality and demand are not high, the price will continue to fall with each subsequent year;
- Finished precious jewelry does not look as presentable and bright as compared to more expensive alloys, and it’s understandable why. This alloy is not used as much in the jewelry industry as in the production of memorable souvenirs and beautiful household items;
- Cheap alloys, by the way, are perfect for gifts for a child who most of all wants to experience the sensations conveyed by precious jewelry, but has not yet learned to appreciate and care for metal. Absolutely any child, without exception, will be very happy to receive a real gold jewelry as a gift, even if not of the most expensive or highest standard; here the very realization that he now has a precious necklace, pendant or bracelet will be much more important.

Buying 585 gold
Gold items serve not only as a measure of an individual’s social status, but also as a measure of stability. Since such “eternal values” are always in price, in demand, they are easy to sell, receiving maximum profit. Let's look at how 585 gold is purchased, the price of 1 gram is calculated, and the digital standard is deciphered.
Sales stages
The pawnshop accepts a variety of gold for purchase - from coins and jewelry to fragments, dental crowns, and scraps. The process includes several stages of reception:
- weighing: using modern equipment, specialists determine the weight of the product, which is a key factor in determining the cost;
- determination (clarification) of the sample (a rectangular mark with a digital value is placed on the inside of the product). The Russian Federation has adopted the metric system, which denotes the amount of precious metal expressed in digital values in 1000 g of alloy. Thus, the sample we are considering includes: pure gold - 58.5%, alloy (impurities) - 41.5%. The shade of the product depends on the impurities - mainly on the proportions of copper and silver: pink is given by copper (32.5%) and silver (9%), yellow - the same components in the proportions of 22.7% and 18.7%, respectively, red - 8.2% and 33.3%. In addition, the alloy may contain small quantities of nickel, zinc, and palladium, which improve properties, reduce costs, and increase the durability of products. To determine the sample, gentle reagents are used that do not harm gold products;
- assessment: the price list of companies that buy gold depends on the price of the precious metal on world exchanges, taking into account the coefficient of purchase of used jewelry; on the weight, complexity of manufacturing, the presence of inserts of precious stones, their cutting; manufacturer's brand, degree of wear, etc.
Having decided to sell 585 gold, you can independently calculate how much the product costs. To do this, we multiply the current price of the sample 999.9 (indicated on the bank’s website or on exchanges under the “gold” label) by 0.585. For example, today in the Central Bank of Russia the gold rate is 2715 rubles per gram. We multiply this figure by 0.585, we get 1588 rubles. for 1 gram 585. Jewelry stores add “their own interest” to the resulting figure and sell gold products at 30-40% higher than the real cost.
This sample in the karat system corresponds to the value “14K”.
Pawnshop offers
Price offers from pawnshops vary depending on the region of the country. The best price in Russia for 1 g of 585 gold is offered by Moscow: compared to other regions, 1 g of yellow metal in the capital can be almost twice as expensive. It can be expensive to rent out antique jewelry inlaid with expensive stones.
Selling scrap gold is much cheaper. It is important to take into account that the price of the precious metal is unstable - it changes daily. It is always possible to clarify the current cost of 1 g of gold in a pawnshop by calling one of the branches or seeking advice online. It is profitable to buy gold products: unlike currency, it is a more stable substitute for money.
Terms of cooperation with a pawnshop
Pawnshops in the capital accept gold items and scrap exclusively from adult clients upon presentation of a passport. It will not be possible to anonymously donate gold 585 or any other standard.
The client’s cooperation with the pawnshop begins with the drawing up of an agreement, which specifies information about the buying organization, the client’s passport data, describes the product after evaluation, the amount, and the loan term. The interest rate, etc. is indicated.
Within a month after the end of the agreed period, you can still buy back the “jewelry” without increasing the interest rate. After this, the jewelry is put up for sale.
The branches of the First Jewelry Pawnshop provide free consultation with a qualified jewelry expert, professional appraisal of jewelry, and a loan on favorable terms.

How much does 585 gold cost per gram today (2017)
Today, the cost of 585 gold in a product per 1 gram in pawnshops and purchases fluctuates around 1,300 rubles. The price depends on trading on the London Stock Exchange, after which the Central Bank of Russia sets the rate.
On the exchange, trading takes place in pure gold, i.e. 999.9 fine. Jewelry is not made from it, since in its pure form it is very soft and the product will not hold its shape, it is very easy to damage.
For strength, other metals such as copper, silver, nickel, and palladium are added to gold.
The main consumers of precious metals are industry and jewelry production. The current price level on world markets depends on their demand for the precious metal.
Price for 1 gram of 585 gold
To calculate the cost of 1 gram of 585 gold, you need to multiply the price of 999 gold by 0.585.
For example, today (May 23, 2017), after setting prices, gold costs 2,300.58 rubles per 1 gram.
2300.58 x 0.585 = 1345.8
Thus, the price turned out to be 1345 rubles.
But, since 585 gold is used to make jewelry, jewelry stores also add an additional price to the product. Also, as you know, 585 gold comes in yellow and white - this, in turn, also affects the cost. Therefore, the prices there are much higher.
But pawnshops and purchases purchase gold items at approximately the same price - 1,385 rubles per 1 gram. But even there, the decoration must first be assessed.
Composition of 585 gold
Sample 585 contains 58.5% pure precious metal. The rest is a ligature consisting of copper and silver. These metals increase the strength and wear resistance of jewelry. In addition to copper and silver, palladium and nickel can be added to a product with this marking to produce so-called white gold.
585 carat
In the Soviet Union, jewelry was made from 583-karat alloy. But since this measure was not used in other countries, in the 90s of the last century it was decided to produce jewelry in 585 standard instead of 583. There are two measurement systems used in the world: metric and carat. The system for measuring gold in carats is used by the USA, Canada, etc. But most countries use the metric system, including Russia.
585 standard corresponds to 14 carats.
Previously, in pre-revolutionary Russia, a spool system of measures was used, where 585 samples corresponded to 56 spools.
Hallmark
Such a mark is a kind of state guarantee for the product. This means that the gold jewelry has been checked by a state inspection and has a purity of at least the specified standard.
An assay mark is a sign that is affixed by state assay inspectorates. There are 18 of them in total.
For the first time, stamps began to be placed on products in 1899. Then there was a mark in the form of a woman’s head in a kokoshnik, with her head in profile to the left. Spool test numbers/
Since 1908, new marks appeared: a female head in a kokoshnik, profile to the right. And also - the numbers of the spool measurement system.
1927 - image of a worker’s head with a hammer. Metric designation system. The assay code is a letter of the Greek alphabet.
June 1, 1958 - a convex hammer and sickle against the background of a five-pointed star. The assay code is a letter of the Russian alphabet.
In 1994, new hallmarks began to be introduced, which are still used today. Today it is an image of a woman’s head in a kokoshnik in profile, directed to the right. A cipher is a letter from the Russian alphabet.
Now you know a lot about the 585 sample, its composition, what metals may be present in the alloy and how this affects the cost, as well as how to calculate the price per 1 gram today.

Detailed composition of 585 gold
gold in 585 sample is 58.5%. The remaining percentage comes from the ligature (impurities). According to modern technologies, eight percent silver and thirty-three and a half percent copper are added to such an alloy. Copper is added to give a reddish tint, and silver to increase hardness. More silver gives gold a cool blue-green hue.
Impurities in such a mark may vary, but this does not affect the precious value of the alloy. Different impurities of gold give different shades, hardness and luster. The well-known white variety takes palladium and nickel (or copper, nickel and zinc) as impurities. Nickel gives the famous lemon tint. A pink tint can be obtained by adding silver and copper in approximately equal proportions.
Popular ligatures:
- copper
- silver
- zinc
- nickel
- palladium
- cadmium
- germanium.
Density of gold
The platinum group of elements has a density higher than that of gold. The specific gravity of 585 sample depends on the color of the alloy (12.8 g/cm3—14.7 g/cm3). The white variety has a lower density. Gold with yellow and red tints has a medium density. Green shades have a high specific gravity. This high density makes it easier to mine the yellow metal. When washing the selected samples, light minerals float away, but the heavy precious metal remains.
Market price
You should be careful with investments. Despite the fact that gold always has value, prices on the market fluctuate in different directions from year to year. Price of gold: 2011 - the cost is approximately one thousand seven hundred rubles. 2013 - the price suddenly drops to one thousand two hundred rubles. 2015 - the cost of metal rises to an approximate value of two and a half thousand rubles.
